Second podium of the year

Jonas Folger rode to second place in the Spanish Grand Prix! The Dynavolt Intact GP rider thus secured his second podium of the season and another 20 points in the Moto2 world title fight. Sandro Cortese crashed unfortunately after a strong weekend in Jerez in the fifth round.

The season 2016 now counts four races and Jonas Folger has two podium finishes in the pocket. It was his third consecutive podium at the Circuito de Jerez, after being third in 2014 and 2015, the victory import.

Today, the 22-year-old had the chance to win the first European race of the year. He started from second place in the 26-lap race and immediately went into lead. Pole sitter Sam Lowes but left no centimeter of air and slipped into the second round on Intact GP pilots over. This tucked turn to the back wheel of the British. Alex Rins followed in third position, but dropped back after a while and the Spaniard, a distance of over two seconds originated. After two thirds of the race distance realized Jonas Sam with fading tires was a bit stronger. He let the current championship leader draw and finally drove a safe second place home! With additional twenty points he climbed to fifth place in the overall classification.

Happiness on the one hand, bad luck on the other. For Sandro Cortese the disappointment was great when he was in the fifth round in fifth position fell after a successful Jerez weekend by highside. Just a day earlier, he made his comeback in the front row. Although the 26-year-old went for the second time from empty in this season, but giving up does not exist for the Kalex pilot.

Next week Friday (April 29) the Dynavolt Intact GP team in Barcelona will take part in a private test, the hunt for points after going into Le Mans in France Grand Prix (06 - 08 May) on!
