China Industrial Association of Power Sources held the "4th Annual Meeting of the Chinese Battery Industry Market 2015" on May 24-25, 2015 at Jintaiyang Hotel in Foshan. At this meeting, Liu Yanlong, secretary-general of the Association issued the "List of Top 100 Enterprises in the Chinese Battery Industry in 2014". The ranking was mainly based on the sales revenue of the enterprise products in 2014 together with reference to other economic indexes such as total profit, volume of foreign exchange earned by export, etc. Meanwhile, the Association also issued the list of top 30 lead-acid battery enterprises, list of top 10 exporters of lead-acid battery and top 10 export destinations of the lead-acid battery in 2014.
According to the statistics of China Industrial Association of Power Sources, the lead-acid battery yield increased 12% in 2014, reaching 204,000,000KVAh and sales revenues increased 19%, reaching RMB 129 billion. The power battery used by the electric bicycle increased by 5% in 2014, while the battery used by the electric tricycle and low speed electric car increased by more than 40%. The battery used by the car increased by 10%, while the battery used by telecommunication increased by about 15%.

In 2014, the export volume of the sealed lead-acid battery was 179,000,000 pieces, while it was 127,700,000 pieces in 2013, with an increase of 40.9% on year-on-year basis. The amount of exports was $2.195 billion in 2014, while it was $ 1.748 billion in 2013, with an increase of 25.5% on year-on-year basis.

Along with implementation of the industrial admission system, the industrial threshold is enhanced, so that lots of small enterprises are eliminated or secretly do business, while the large enterprises expand rapidly through merger and acquisition, with the industrial concentration greatly enhanced. Through integration, the industry develops rapidly, but there are still problems such as competition with low price, excess production capacity, doubts about the manufacturer’s environment of the public and so on. In the several following years, the lead-acid battery still has a huge market demand in lots of fields such as auto startup, electric bicycle, electric tricycle, low speed electric car, new energy storage, telecommunication emergency power supply, etc. but the transformation and upgrading of the lead-acid battery industry should be accelerated.
Accelerate the adjustment and upgrading of the industrial structure and develop the new sealed lead-acid battery with higher energy and longer service life, such as coiled battery, colloid sealed lead-acid battery, superbattery, lead-carbon battery, valve regulated lead-acid battery for bulk energy storage, battery for hybrid electric vehicle startup/ shutdown, valve regulated lead-acid battery for low speed electric car, high temperature battery used as the emergency power supply and so on.
Accelerate the upgrading pace of the automatic production technology. Use the advanced manufacturing equipment and environmental protection equipment in strict accordance with the requirements of the Admission Conditions and encourage to use the continuous counter electrodeproduction equipment, automatic battery production line, cold cutting full-auto pelletizing machine, full-auto sealed lead powder production line, full-auto sealed paste mixing system, internal process, feedback battery formation power supply, automatic production line with the polarity ear brush-rolling cut- frame brushing on the counter electrode, advanced automatic cast-weld assembly production line and so on.
Follow the environmental protection control principle of "those who manufacture recycle and those who pollute the environment control it", fulfill the social responsibilities of the enterprises in real earnest, actively explore to take the path of sustainable development and explore an effective management mode for the waste lead-acid batteries to achieve their clean recycling and boost overall clean production of the circulatory industrial chain of the battery while recycling the resources.
