MENSHINE Technology: Promote development with innovation and boost development of the battery industry

On August 4, 2015, Dynavolt’s High-Performance Super Nano Colloid Accumulator New-Type & Energy Efficiency Manufacturing Technology” project passed the new technology appraisal. The appraisal committee considered the project “nationally leading in overall technology” and it suggested that Dynavolt should make further efforts to commercialize and promote its application.

Colloid technology is a new technology encouraged in the national “12th Five-Year Plan”. Since Dynavolt successfully developed the Nano Colloid Electrolyte Battery in 2004, nano colloid battery technology has been advanced continuously. As a third-generation technology, the high-performance super nano colloid accumulator technology allows the accumulator to function properly at the temperature of -40 Celsius. This new-type energy efficiency manufacturing technology that it successfully developed as an innovation in nano colloid accumulator technology, signifies another solid step it took in its journey of pursuing clean energy.

With the incessant innovation and breakthroughs in technology, lead-acid batteries have been playing an indispensable role in the battery market. In starter batteries, Dynavolt has been leading the industry with its technological advantages.

According to Wu Yue, vice president of Dynavolt, his company is for more than 20 years dedicated to the production, R&D, and innovation of starter batteries, thus accumulating a wealth of experience. It is not only committed to the R&D of lead-acid batteries but has also made remarkable achievements in the lithium battery field.

Dynavolt recently launched its DLFP-series high-performance lithium starter battery. Since 2008 the company has been involved in the R&D of starter batteries, and, after seven years of attempts at technology breakthroughs, repetitive testing and improvements, it succeeded in developing this product. Incorporating six technology patents of Dynavolt, the green product features excellent performance and eco-friendliness, marking a major breakthrough in lithium starter batteries.

With new-energy vehicles thriving in production and sales, the lithium battery industry has had a good opportunity for development. As an enterprise known for its innovation in the battery industry, Dynavolt has, after much deliberation, made a strategic deployment in the lithium battery field.

On July 3, the construction work on Fujiian Dynavolt New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a fully-owned subsidiary of Dynavolt Power Techology, commenced in Zhao’an, Fujian. With a phase-one investment of 500 million yuan, this project would promise an annual production capacity of 400 million lithium batteries.

As per industry estimates, the lithium power battery market will amount to 160 billion yuan in ten years. Therefore, lead-acid batter producers are transforming and upgrading themselves and intensifying their efforts in the lithium battery market. Well aware of this opportunity, Dynavolt has successfully entered the lithium battery field.

Different from those enterprises foraying into the lithium battery sector through capital, traditional lead-acid battery enterprises have their inherent advantages: First, they have better cash flows, which means a solid foundation for their new business of lithium batteries; second, they are better positioned in terms of brand equities, customer recognition, technological R&D level, channel development, and technological accumulation, which play an important role in their development in the lithium battery business.

In June 2015, to perfect its new-energy vehicle industry chain, Dynavolt increased its investment in Jiangsu GFY to acquire relevant power pack technology so that it could expand from the single battery business to the other parts of the industry chain such as batteries and BMSs (battery management systems) and provide total power systems (power battery packages) aiming to interconnecting the upstream and downstream of the whole new-energy vehicle industry chain.

According to industry analysts, the two major fields for the application of batteries (new-energy vehicles and energy storage) are at the initial entry phase of the market, leaving plenty of room for domestic enterprises to develop. Enterprises should make preparations in terms of resources at the critical parts on the supply chain so that they can finally develop their competitiveness in production scale, product performance, price, etc.
